what it is.
The show.
An animated series based on Rosemary Wells' books, about bunny siblings Max and Ruby. Ruby, the older sister, is organized and bossy; Max, the younger brother, is mischievous and mostly nonverbal. Their grandmother appears occasionally but parents are notably absent. Aimed at ages 2–5.
our take
“Max and Ruby captures a real sibling dynamic, and the humor appeals to young viewers. However, it scores in the D range for several rubric concerns: Ruby is frequently dismissive and controlling, Max's limited speech doesn't support language development, and the absent-parent dynamic raises developmental appropriateness questions. The repetitive conflict pattern also limits attention quality.”
