what it is.
The show.
Based on Norman Bridwell's classic books, this animated series follows Emily Elizabeth and her enormous red dog Clifford on Birdwell Island. The show explores friendship, community, and problem-solving, aimed at ages 3–6.
our take
“Clifford's stories center on prosocial themes like sharing and honesty, and Clifford himself is an endearing character. It falls into the D range because the pacing is faster than we'd like, with frequent action sequences driven by Clifford's size causing problems. The conflict-resolution patterns can feel formulaic, and the visual energy of each episode works against calm, focused viewing.”
