The vocabulary.
We use a handful of terms a lot. Here’s what each one means when we use it.
- Open-ended play
- Play with materials that don't dictate an outcome — the toy does less, the child does more.
- Screen displacement
- The developmental cost of screens isn't (mainly) what they put in — it's what they crowd out.
